How is homework organised?
Homework is now focussed soley on reading. A Bug Club book that is levelled at your child’s reading and comprehension ability will be sent home every Friday. Whilst reading the book together, please utilise the questions at the front of the reading record.
Other homework may be sent home to support learning (at the teacher’s discretion).
What reading should my child be doing each week?
Please read as often as possible, and aim for at least five short 10 minute sessions a week.
What topics will my child be enjoying?
Autumn 1 – River Wild
In literacy, we will be enjoying Gorilla by Anthony Browne, and writing our own narrative based on this story.
As part of our GROW curriculum we will be learning about rivers, focussing on the local area and investigating the features and uses of rivers in the North West.
Our focus in Science will be animals including humans, learning about foodchains and identifying a variety of predators and prey.
