Which adults work in the classroom?

Mr Lander

Mrs Ireland (TA)

Which days will my child need their PE kit?

Monday and Thursday

How is homework organised?

The children will receive a homework grid each half term. This contains a number of activities that they can complete over half term. I do not expect children to bring their homework grids in each week but will expect them to be brought into school at the end of the half term. There will be TTRockstars for Maths, reading on go read, spellings and topic activities based on what we are learning each half term.

What reading should my child be doing each week?

Your child should be reading at least four or five times a week. They have access to a guided reading book from the Teacher, a free choice reading book and a library book. Please can you notify when the child has read on our new system Go read.

How will spellings be sent home and what should I do with them?

A spellings grid will be sent home with new spellings to learn every Friday and tested the following Friday morning. Each child should practise these every day for 10 minutes.

What topics will my child be enjoying?

In topic, we are looking at UK Geographical regions in Geography, Nutrition in Science and in Art we are looking at the artist Hokusai.

How can I contact my class teacher?

Please telephone school to arrange an appointment for either a visit or phonecall.

Alternatively email the teacher – please note that emails will not be responded to after 6pm.

What trips/visitors will my child be doing?

Any trips or visits will be arranged later in the year.

Who do I contact if I have a problem?

If you have a concern we encourage your first contact should be with the class teacher. However, should you have further concerns please contact Mr Bolton head@broadway.lancs.sch.uk
